In this episode of Raising The Bar Podcast, Allison talks with Dr. Dorian Williams.

Dr. Dorian Williams was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, and is a graduate of Judson High School, where he was an all-state football and track standout. After a short collegiate track career at UTSA, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and later received his commission as the Air Force’s first black Aerospace Physiologist. After a stellar aviation career (2,500 flight hours), he is now proudly Lt. Col Dorian R. Williams-retired. Dorian received his bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. He also holds multiple master’s Degrees in Education, Management, and Aeronautical Science. In 2007, Dorian successfully defended his dissertation earning his Doctorate Degree in Divinity.

Doctor Williams holds active certifications in diversity, project management, adult learning, and is certified as a TQM course designer (higher education). “Doc” holds memberships with the Project Management Institute, the Association of Strategic Planning, the American Society of Training and Development, and the Institute for Diversity. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors for the Greenwood Learning Center, ReachSA, and the Black Leadership Advisory Council. In his spare time, he serves as a visiting professor/lecturer for the San Antonio Area Foundation, Summit Bible College, and Embry-Riddle University. Dorian is currently the owner and CEO of The Moade Center—a 15,000 square feet co-working space aimed at helping diverse communities start and sustain their own businesses. Additionally, Doc is the author of the best selling book, “Strategic Planning for Black Folk: Unleashing the Secret Weapon to Success.”

His Junior High sweetheart and now wife of 26 years, is a small business consultant and IT project management consultant for large-scale corporations. His son is a graduate of Texas Tech University, where he was an all-American hurdler and now works for ESPN, his daughter is a straight A student and decorated athlete who attends the University of North Texas on a track scholarship.
